DUM-E knew he wasn't the brightest of Tony Stark's robots, but he tried.

He really did.

He couldn't run analysis on data or run super complex programs like JARVIS. But that had never stopped the little bot from trying his hardest with every task his Dad or Miss Potts assigned him.

His mechanical arm may have only had the simplest of gripping capabilities, but DUM-E did the best he could. Whenever one of the humans spent long hours tinkering around the shop and needed a tool, he always did his best to fetch or retrieve it for them. He may have at times brought back the incorrect wench or even a fire extinguisher instead (which could really annoy Dad), but DUM-E would glow with pride whenever Dad or Miss Potts praised his efforts.

The little bot happily rolled here and there about the workshop each day, looking for ways to be of help. While he couldn't fine tune Dad's Iron Man suit calibrations or do 3D scans like his other robotic siblings could, DUM-E still had his own special skills. His grasping claw would gently hold wires in place while Dad soldered. His frame was just the right height for Dad or Miss Potts to prop their tired feet on after many long hours. And DUM-E would positively be beaming when printouts of his own designs of his beloved Dad or Miss Potts were hung up as decorations.

No, he wasn't the most brilliant bot around, not by a long shot. But when Dad called him Dummy, or when Miss Potts would affectionately scratch that one sweet spot under his strut that made him chirp with happiness, DUM-E knew he was appreciated here.

But more than that, DUM-E knew he was loved.
